Thing have gotten a little better on the 2300DL front. The Zenographics driver works well for grayscale but the color text printing is blurry. Konica has released a 2430dl driver for OSX. The Konica color driver however doesn't respect the grayscale setting so I think you probably want to use both. This discusses how to get the Zenographics driver installed.

You don't need to register anymore and can just download it. Follow the instructions for setup and then test. Now go to and get the 2430DL driver. Set this up the same way (including socket printing not IP). And you have good color printing.
