Get it on Xbox? I think that is the most readily available method. But i have a friend who has it in PC it think he said it is ok but not as good as on Xbox.Only thing the OG Xbox version has over PC is Co-op and split-screen. PC/Mac still has online multiplayer (supported by Bungie to this day), modding community, extra fan-made campaigns, 60fps, higher resolutions etc. It’s preference and he is asking about the Mac version. I am sure he knows about the Xbox version, as do the majority here so rather than telling him what to buy, help add to the discussion.Yeah, obviously! I had the xbox back in 2001 but i no longer do so I want to play on my laptop.

I have another question- I got the game off of eBay but I don't have a CD drive so I am going to use an external CD drive to install the game. My question is do you know if I need the CD connected at all times or can I unplug the CD drive once it is installed? You only need the CD to install the game. Once you install the latest patch, the CD requirement is removed if i recall correctly.Yes, although you have to install the patch manually.Where do i get this patch?Right here!I think this one is for the PC!.unfortunately I'm running the Macsoft versionOh duh, right. Try this.Awesome thanks. So I installed it (I had to go through my apps and select the installed halo) It went through it's thing and 'successfully installed' but when I open up multiplayer, the gamespy servers still have a loading error. Someone on this thread said it has to be manually installed. That may be my problem.

How is that done?It doesn’t sound like you’ve fully patched it with the latest update. Have a look at this thread and video, made in November 2017, he shows how to update to the latest version as well as the MP servers still running post Gamespy shutoff for the Mac version. Like the halo universal binary is no longer useful for macs. My research says that the only way to play multiplayer at this point in time is to bootcamp my mac and play the pc version:(. Get it on Xbox?

Just tested it and multiplayer works. Follow the instructions and downloads here. It will patch the Mac Version to redirect the old GameSpy servers to the new ones hosted by Bungie. Make sure you are using Universal Binary 2.0.4 before doing this.

Mac Please, choose appropriate driver for your version and type of operating system. All drivers were scanned with antivirus program for your safety.

Wrote:Hi all- Just wondering how I can get the fill Halo: CE campaign on my mac? Paid or free it doesn't matter to me. Any helpful links would be greatly appreciated thanks EDIT: I have a mac running 10.13 high sierraEbay. The Mac specific version is available there.

The Mac version is considerably more expensive than the PC version due to the rarity of it and it is very unlikely you will find a new copy. However, the Mac version when patched is basically the same as the PC counterpart and both use the same MP servers now (they didn't previously).

So really you have the following options: 1) Buy a used copy from somewhere like Ebay for a higher price to run Halo CE natively on your Mac and if you update the game, full support like the PC copy or: 2) Buy the PC version for a cheaper price due to more availability and run it on Windows via Bootcamp on your Mac. There is no downloadable version of any Halo game on PC (Halo PC, Halo Mac, Halo 2 Vista). All must be purchased via a disc and as mentioned, it will likely be a used copy. Beware if you decide to get Halo 2 Vista in the future, each individual CD key can only be used 5 times before the CD key is invalid and requires a new key. If the mods allow it, I may try to make an FAQ regarding the PC versions of Halo.

Otherwise, any other questions and I'll try to help.I have a full PC copy of CE on my flashdrive. I just drag and drop it into the computer and transfer my save files.

I can even run multiplayer, so why would I need to buy a CD, wouldn't there be a copy for mac somewhere? Wrote:Hi all- Just wondering how I can get the fill Halo: CE campaign on my mac? Halo PC and the Mac version can only be obtained via the physical disc. There is no legal download of any of the PC/Mac Halo games outside of Halo Custom Edition, which from memory requires a legit Halo PC CD key to run anyway.
