Sep 30, 2009 Rating Style creator by: Dick Rector Hello Buto, If you go to svpworld.com or psrtutorial.com or jososoft.com you can download FOR FREE programs to create styles, multipads etc. Especial the program stylecreator by Michael Bedesem is a very handy tool as are his other free programs like his wonderful midiplayer etc.

You HAVE to download the full program first and install it. Then you install the latest UPDATE over it. One thing I want to say as a warning however. Creating a good style is A HECK OF A JOB. Professionals with the most advanced tools are working sometimes for a long time on one style. On the mentioned websites you can also download TONS of free styles. Hope this helps you.

Dick Rector Bali (Indonesia). Oct 07, 2011 Rating psr 1000 is better by: Anonymous Hey I m new to this forum, I Just start to learn piano/keyboard. I serched a keyboard that would be useful for Learning as well as performing.

The think is that i went to yamaha shop and serch for a keyboard, sale man show me PSR E 413 is the best suits for learing. Then I ask him is there any oprion to use usb/ floppy with keyboard? What about the voices and styles? He said there are number of voices and styels that you can use.

On the same time I tried to look for a PSR 1000. I serch on the internet for the details.I purchased one. And I am fully satisfied with the feachers and other faciliites that yamaha psr 1000 have. In breif,I would say PSR 1000 is the youngest brother of PSR S900 and tyrose, but PSR E 413 is only have relation with PSR S900, but not brothers. The interfaces are almost same in PSR 1000, yamaha PSR S 900 and tyrose. As begginer PSR 1000 is very helpful for me to learn the basics of PSR S 900 as well as Tyros. You can go to yamaha website and select two product and compare.

That will give a good idea also to choose which one you want to select. Nov 08, 2009 Rating PSR 1000 vs PSR E 413 by: Alfred Dear Leo: If you first google Yamaha PSR 1000 and learn about that Unit, then do the same for Yamaha PDR E 413, you will be in a position to post any lingering questions in this Forum. No disrespect is meant, but you should do some 'homework' before posing any questions such as yours.

One would have to be a 'multi-experienced keyboard Yamaha sales person', or have played both keyboards to give you an opinion. Most participants do not own more than one keyboard, and presuming the one they own is one of the two in question, they have no way of really responding without doing some 'homework' themselves. All this said, please accept my advice in the positive spirit in which it is meant. I look forward to helping you further, so please don't be shy to post future Forum messages. 'Musicsoft Downloader' software not picking up Yamaha PSR-E413? By Steve (Australia) I recently purchased a Yamaha PSR-E413 keyboard and it came with Musicsoft Downloader. I also purchased a USB cable so I could transfer data to and from the keyboard.

I've installed Musicsoft and the USB drivers, and the computer seems to be able to pick up the keyboard just fine, but whenever I open up Musicsoft and try to connect to the keyboard, I get the message 'Cannot communicate with the instrument. Make sure that the instrument is connected to your computer properly, then click Connection Check.' Any ideas what I might have done wrong?

I remember having major issues getting the software to work with one of those black USB MIDI cable from China. I also remember smacking myself after I got it working.

The cable works great in ALL programs except Yamaha software. But I don't remember if I got it working due to my own error or accident. I just don't remember. But now I can't seem to get it working at all again. Every program I have that uses midi has no problem sending and transmitting data with the keyboard.

But Musicsoft won't connect. It's junk software designed to work well with Yamaha brand cables. Jan 19, 2012 Rating Workaround for Intel Macs and Linux by: ssokolow I haven't been able to find an alternative tool, but the file-transfer functionality for the Windows tool works with minimal tinkering under Linux via Wine. If you're using an Intel Mac, you could probably do the same by installing Wine on OSX. Here's the Wine AppDB entry for MusicSoft Downloader which explains the one trivial tweak you need to make to get it to run: http://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager.php?sClass=version&iId=24541. Feb 07, 2010 Rating yamaha psr-e323 & noname usb-midi cable by: snowflake I have the same problem exactly.:( My son got a psr-e323 keyboard for Christmas. We purchased a noname usb-midi cable and it works with any sequencer program (go data to keyboard and back, under windows XP and Linux), but the yamaha musicsoft downloader program doesn't see the keyboard, cannot communicate with it, so we cannot store midi file in keyboard.

I think Yamaha is doing it, that your musicsoft downloader program does not work with any cable, but you buy your expensive UX16 USB-MIDI cable. I'm disappointed in Yamaha!:( //snowfalke.

Jan 09, 2010 Rating Yamaha PSR-413 Music Soft Down Loader is Windows Only by: Bobincol I received the following reply from Yamaha- Dear Customer, Thank you for contacting Yamaha! Unfortunately, as you know the MusicSoft Downloader program is only compatible with Windows operating systems. There is no work-around to make this software work with the Mac OS. I apologize for any inconvenience you may experience. Please let me know if you have any other questions. Kind Regards, Andrew Yamaha Music Interactive, Inc.

Customer Support Team. On my yamaha psr e413, why does the accompaniment function not work?

By Jimmy O'D recently on my yamaha psr e413, i have realised that the accompaniment function, as well asall of the other style control functions, including the backing beat, have all stopped working. I use the accompaniment function quite often, and it has only recently stopped working. Also, on the LCD display, everything is working normally as though there is no problem, but no sound is being produced. In accompaniment mode, the keys on the right hand side of the keyboard, which are not used for accompaniment, work fine as they normally would, but the accompaniment keys do not work when using this function.

When the keyboard is in normal mode, all of the keys work fine. Is there a setting on the keyboard which i can change, or will I have to take my keyboard in to be repaired? Comments for On my yamaha psr e413, why does the accompaniment function not work?

Oct 22, 2009 Rating PSR E 413 Accompaniment by: Alfred Dear Jimmy:My PC froze during my first message so I'm repeating main suggestions: Press ACCOMP button and check if Display shows that mode is ON. If not, INITIALIZE keyboard to 'Factory' condition and try again. If not, blow canned compressed air along edges of (small) Accomp button and press it three or four times while checking Display for status. It might then show mode is ON. My unit (PRS E 403) is very similar to yours, and the above suggestions worked.

Hope it also works for you. Please post a message on this Forum if you succeed, so others can learn from your experience. Thank you and good luck. Nov 27, 2009 Rating Weak LCD Yamaha PSR E 413 by: Alfred Dear Tonny & Koen: Koen's post is a wonderful and timely one.

It could well be the answer to your problem, Tonny; so buy a new Adaptor and try it out. It certainly is better than opening the unit, and is not an expensive accessory. Koen: Could you please quickly add a post informing us of the SPECS (name & Model) of both your new and old Adaptors. This way, Tonni will know what to buy, and I will be able to set my records straight. It is obvious that the PSR E 413 Current requirement was not being matched by your old Adaptor, and this may well be the reason why so many Forum members have been having problems with the Displays of their units. Our exchange of Forum posts is truly an excellent example of how well this Forum can function.

Keep well, and my best regards to both of you. Nov 27, 2009 Rating Weak LCD by: Koen Just a follow-up on my problem that started this discussion: the LCD went weak again, so I brought it back to the shop (under warranty). Yamaha looked at it but couldn't find anything. The shop gave me a temporary substitute keyboard. I used my own power adapter, and I had the same problem. I changed the adapter, and the problem was gone.

I also never had the problem again with my own keyboard. Looks like the adapter was the problem: it didn't give enough power to fully light up the LCD display. Nov 26, 2009 Rating Weak LCD Yamaha PSR E 413 by: Alfred Dear Tonny: Sometimes it's risky to buy used electronic equipment, precisely because defects soon arise. Or because sellers tend to brush off any complaints from disappointed buyers. It seems that you may have been the victim of such developments. Your purchase probably had no warranty, and I doubt Yamaha would do much more than suggest replacement of the LCD Assembly, which in itself - not icluding labor - would make the cost prohibitive in comparison to whatever you paid for your unit. You have to decide whether your budget allows you to buy a new unit (with Yamaha Warranty) from a reputable music store, or to find another used unit in the hope it will be in good working condition and making sure you test it before buying.

If your budget limits further spending, and you feel you have NOTHING TO LOSE, an alternative is to open the keyboard and attempt a repair yourself. I ALWAYS AVOID SUGGESTING SUCH DRASTIC ACTION. However if you are a HANDY PERSON,go ahead. There is really ONLY ONE AREA TO CHECK. It is where the LCD should have a plug-and-socket Connector. It may have become disconnected or is loose. DO NOT FIDDLE WITH ANYTHING ELSE.

Or as I hinted earlier, YOU HAVE EVERYTHING TO LOSE. Please post a message in this Forum letting us know the outcome. Thanks and good luck.

Sep 27, 2009 Rating Dim Text by: Alfred Dear Koen: I believe your keyboard is still quite new, and it should not be having any serious problem with its Display. You aver the light is working but that the 'text' looks dim. You'd be surprised to learn that it can be just a matter of line-of-sight, and if you lower the bench (or raise the stand) to change your eye level you may find a change.

Also, keep any house lamps away from the Display area and move your keyboard away from windows which let in any sunlight to reduce any reflection. I hope these simple actions help, as Display problems are serious, and have to be replaced at some expense. Let's hope my suggestions work, and if they do, please post a follow-up comment in this Forum so other participants can benefit. Thanks and good luck.

Uploading from E413 to web by Brenda (Southern California) NOWHERE can I find the answer to this simple question: what is the procedure for uploading my compositions to the internet from my new E413? I've made the necessary USB connection and installed the driver, etc.

SURELY there is a way to send a song or sound effect or whatever, for use on my websites. I've been all over the Internet looking for the answer, read the owner's manual, and have experimented on my own. I hope I'm wrong about this, but this specific issue seems to be deliberately veiled in mystery at the Yamaha site. Many people are purchasing these otherwise terrific keyboards thinking they can upload their stuff. IF this can be done with this keyboard, people need to know how; it it can't, this should be made clear.

I'll get whatever software I need. My husband and I are college graduates and not computer newbs, but we've already spent hours on this perplexing situation without success.
